This Privacy Policy explains how Kamloops Commercial Properties ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Ocean Guardian mobile application ("App").
We value and respect your privacy. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your data.
I. Information We Collect
We collect limited information to provide and improve the App's functionality:
Device Information: Device model, operating system (iOS version), iOS Identifiers (IDFA/IDFV), language settings, time zone, and IP address.
Usage Data: Quiz progress, environmental knowledge levels, ocean rescue achievements, virtual rewards collected, and other in-app interactions.
Account Information: We generate a random user ID locally on your device to track your progress. No personal account (email, phone number) is created or required. We only collect third-party login information if you voluntarily choose to link an external account.
II. Information You Provide or Authorize
App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
As required by Apple, we must ask for your permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. On first launch, you will be shown the ATT prompt.
If you select "Allow": We will use your device's IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) to provide personalized advertising and measure ad performance.
If you select "Ask App Not to Track": We will not receive your IDFA. Your advertising experience may be less relevant, but you will still have full access to all game and educational features.
Notifications
We may request permission to send push notifications for quiz reminders (e.g., "New Ocean Challenge available"), daily facts, or activity updates. You can manage this in your device settings.
Third-party SDK Data
Ocean Guardian integrates the following SDKs for analytics, advertising, and performance monitoring. These services may collect device information and usage data as described in their respective policies:

III. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes, which align with Apple's App Store guidelines:
App Functionality: To enable core game features (educational quizzes, ocean protection gameplay, virtual rewards) and ensure app security.
Analytics & Product Improvement: To understand user behavior, improve the product experience, and monitor app stability (using services like Firebase).
Advertising & Attribution (If "Allow" Tracking is selected): To deliver personalized advertising, conduct ad attribution (using services like AppsFlyer), and measure campaign performance.
IV. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Sharing occurs only when:
Required for third-party services to provide app functionality (Firebase, AppsFlyer, and ad mediation SDKs listed in Section II).
Required by law, regulation, or government authority.
Explicitly authorized by you.
V. Your Privacy Rights (iOS)
Withdrawal of Tracking (ATT): You can change your tracking preference for Ocean Guardian at any time via your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Withdrawal of Notifications: You can manage notification permissions at any time via your device's Settings > Notifications > Ocean Guardian.
Reset Game Progress: You can clear your local game progress at any time via the in-app menu: Settings → Reset Game Progress.
VI. Data Storage and Security
Data is stored securely using encryption, access control, and secure transmission. Security incidents will be communicated within 72 hours through in-app notifications or other means. Data is retained only as long as necessary to provide services or as required by law.
VII. Protection of Minors
Ocean Guardian is directed to users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately. Any mistakenly collected data from children under 13 will be promptly deleted upon discovery.
VIII. Updates to Privacy Policy
Policy updates will be displayed prominently in the app. Continued use of the app constitutes agreement to the latest version of this policy.
